Southern Appalachian Spruce Restoration Initiative: 2014 Update

On July 23rd, SASRI held its 3rd annual meeting at the Konnarock Community Center, Troutdale, VA. It was followed by field trip to Whitetop Mtn, VA.  Partners reported on activities and plans.

The group heard presentations from Andrea Brandon, Coordinator for the Central Appalachian Whole System of The Nature Conservancy on Update and Lessons Learned from the Central Appalachian Spruce Restoration Initiative (CASRI)  (see powerpoint for more details).  Cordie Diggins, PhD candidate at Virginia Tech, presented on Northern Flying Squirrel Research at Virginia Tech (see powerpoint for more details).
