Feb 1, 10 am – Conservation, Management and Restoration of High Elevation Forests in the Central Appalachians

White Grass Ski Touring Center. Stewardship Manager Mike Powell of The Nature Conservancy will explore the trails of white grass and share with you an update on current activities associated with protecting high elevation forests for future generations. This walk will cover high elevation forests such as spruce forests found in Canaan Valley and dry oak forests found in the Ridge and Valley areas to the east and how these forests provide benefits to wildlife and people. Free and open to the public.
